HP200i doesn`t recignize DVD+R

I need the smartest person here!
My HP200i recognizes DVD+Rs as simple 700Mb CD-Rs. I have no problems with DVD+RWs. I can write and rewrite them since day 1.
I tryed to upgrade the firmware, didn`t help.
Now what to do?

Nero 5.5.8.2.
When I see the drive propertis at My computer with the DVD+R in it, it looks like it`s a CD-R.

get the new version. I had same problem with some discs, got new patch, and it fixed it.

what does nero say.....nero has a "disc properties" or "medium properties" that tells you how much space is on the disk...

Nero medium properties says
DVD-session
DVD+R
total capacity: 0mb
available capacity: 0mb

When I try to write something on it /less than 4.37gb/ it says there is not enough space on it. I can write the same movie on DVD+RW!

I have a 200 external but let me take a stab at it.

First....upgrade the nero to the latest version.

Second...and I don't know if this is what you are trying to do ..... and this still hapens.....don't try burning an image file to dvd with nero....it automatically defaults to thinking its burning a cd and gives the same message......try burning iso's with dvddecryptor.

I have the exact burner you have, and it works fine and recognizes everything. I didn't even update the firmware. The media I've used so far is Fuji Film DVD+R and HP's DVD+R. BTW, I've used Easy CD Creator 6 and Copy2DVD as my burning programs.
